I have been contemplating simplicity lately.
My client, a brilliant, highly skilled scientist, felt compelled to answer questions from her former husband's family, 10 years after she left the toxic relationship. They attend the same professional events.
We had completed a session working with boundaries and how she might respond to the intrusive line of questioning.
I asked what may happen if she keeps her intention, to disengage as quickly as possible, top of mind.
Since we had cleared the pattern underlying her previous ways of engaging, her perception of those interactions changed. She could consider simple ways to interact, briefly, without betraying herself or violating her boundaries.
Keeping her intention in mind, she felt empowered to say what is true for her in the moment.
Intention and simplicity are a powerful combination once underlying patterns and themes are healed and cleared.
