Our Gamma Brain Waves

Updated: Feb 13, 2022

When our brains conduct neurological functions, neurons transmit information through electrical signals. These signals produce brain wave patterns.

Gamma brain waves are the fastest of the five (Gamma, Beta, Alpha, Theta and Delta) and range from 30 – 100 HZ. They correlate to functions like attention, focus, problem solving, and working memory.

High levels of gamma waves are linked to happiness, greater receptivity and more focused concentration. Low levels of gamma waves are associated with memory issues, learning difficulties, short attention spans, ADHD and depression (“deep-pressed emotions.”)

Studies show that increased gamma waves help with concentration and promote higher states of awareness.

Increased Gamma waves can:

• Improve cognition and problem-solving abilities • Upgrade memory • Refine problem solving abilities • Increase attention span • Enhance mindfulness • Boost brain function and neuroprotection

Although our brains cycle through all five of the brain waves at various times, we can consciously engage in activities that boost gamma waves.

Ways to Boost Your Brain Waves
