Co-Creating and Tending to Intentions

Many of us set intentions, either as part of a ritual or on a sacred schedule.

I set my intention before client sessions, new projects and significant conversations.

As I think about it, I set my intention before engaging in most everything.

People sometimes notice that their intentions are not realized.  When I ask about their process, a common theme is to set intentions and forget them.  Inquiring about how intentions are tended to, there may be little to share.

I think about the process of intention setting like the planting of a tree.  The careful selection of an appropriate spot, adequate sunlight, soil that will nourish it, water access, and the intention for the tree, all play a role in whether it thrives or not.

Similarly, our intentions require nurturing to flourish and bear fruit.

After I set my intention, for specifics and the highest good, with harm to none, I revisit it frequently.  With each decision, whether directly connected to my intention or not, I ask myself “does this support my intention?”  If the answer is no, I tend to shift course.

Intentions are consciousness, as are we.  And as such, where attention flows, consciousness evolves to its highest Truth.
