A Simple Letting Go Practice

Updated: Feb 13, 2022

"People have a hard time letting go of their suffering. Out of a fear of the unknown, they prefer suffering that is familiar.” Thich Nhat Hanh

Give yourself time and space to feel what you feel. Schedule time to sit with sadness, anger or hopelessness. If you cannot move through these emotions, use the power of your imagination. Picture yourself holding a burning hot coal in your hand. See the glow and feel the burn in your palm. Lift your hand and, with intention, throw the hot coal down. Allow your imagination free reign and practice this movement until you feel empowered to focus your attention elsewhere.
